Well, I've decided to give blogging a go. I was speaking to my friend Patrick on the ferry the other day and was encouraging him to start one. He's been putting in some hard training lately for his triathalons and I thought he'd create a great training blog. I got thinking that though I don't train nearly as hard as he does, why don't I start one? Speaking of Patrick, he's doing a tri today out of town. I'm really hoping he does well.
I haven't run since Wednesday when I did an easy 11K along the seawalk and beach trail. My right foot has been bothering me for the last 3 weeks or so, and I've decided to take a few days off in preparation to do some hard (for me) training for the Victoria half in October. So today I did 50 min. on the elliptical, some stretching, pushups and a bit of core work. Though my foot feels better with a few days off running, it still has a bit of soreness. I'm debating whether I should run tomorrow or take one more day off.
Anyway, I'll leave with a quote I received in my inbox today that I really liked:
"Life is often compared to a marathon, but I think it is more like being a sprinter; long stretches of hard work punctuated by brief moments in which we are given the opportunity to perform at our best."-- Michael Johnson
