This afternoon I ran to Balaclava park where there is a cinder oval of undetermined distance, it may be 440 yards, as it's been around for years and years. A local running store owner told me at one time that Roger Bannister trained there leading up to his "miracle mile" in 1954 (I think that's the year). It was a spot that was out of the way of the throngs of people and media following him at the time. I did my drills here, and today my "B" drills felt particularly uncoordinated. This will get better the more I do them I'm sure. I ran for ~11K easy today, running from Balaclava to the UBC endowment lands, taking the "sasamat" trail. This landed me on 16th, where I wound my way back to the in-laws house. A nice easy run today as I always enjoy the trails on the endowment lands.
I managed to get my Polar watch battery changed today in downtown. A small running chore completed. And while I was at a conference today, Audrey went to the aquarium and saw some "baby beluga's" that Raffi has filled her tender head with. It's her favourite tune. I'm sure I'll appreciate this being her favourite song in about 14 years. She had a great time, and as the fish and whales swam by she kept saying, "hello" to the "little white whales on the go".

Hey L,
Did you run wearing a balaclava? Great to hear you are having fun but remember, practice those "B" drills just like you are wiping poo from your shoe!! Not exactly a great visual but that is a tip from one of my past run leaders.
Run Forest Run.
