Short and slow

Went to the XC course this afternoon to meet the group and was met by very few people. It was sparsely attended today, in part because the kids have a track meet tomorrow. I guess they need that one taper day. As Scott G. said, "all the important people are here, let's get going". I ended up doing just a 3K warmup and another 3K on the loop. It was probably the shortest and slowest run I've had in a long time, but I'm not overly concerned, as there's lots of time to get my training rolling. I usually have an iron stomach on my runs; today though, it wasn't feeling well. Whatever was in it, it was sloshing around severely; I think it was the earlier mixture of water and oreo cookies after lunch. I'll have to work on cutting those cookies out-- but there's three more still in the bag......

Stephanie R. showed up a bit late, and after my run I timed her doing 8X100m repeats on the marked trail. She did the slightly uphill portion, walking back to the "0" mark and waiting for my go. I can stand and time people all day.......it's a lot less exertion!
