Relax

Today's workout called for 8k with a HR between 165-175 on a bit more of a demanding course. I could run at Sunset Park on an XC course there, or an alternative. Because I didn't feel like driving to my run, I chose the alternative. Hills. After a brief warm up, I ran 5 X 1 mile hill loop, that's conveniently located outside my front door. Average HR reading was 169 and I ran for a total of 37:58. It was quite chilly this afternoon, but mitigated by my trusty toque and two pairs of gloves. 

I felt good today, though I could have pushed (relaxed) a bit harder on the down hill sections. As a sign at Avid Fitness says -- and I'm often reminded of it: relax to go faster!
