I've made the decision not to travel down to the city for the Steveston 8k. The potential for snow, on the Peninsula and in the city, and my lack of good tires on the "tomato" were foremost in my decision making. I can't help but feel a bit guilty about not doing this race. I believe I've done this one the last 3 years and have improved steadily at the 8k distance. It's a great course.
My next race will be the 5k spring forward in Vancouver in March. This will be a nice tune-up for the TC10K.
A benefit of my decision is that I'm not leaving my family in the lurch; especially since some family issues have cropped up. No, there is meant to be no marital issues implied in that last sentence. Really.
