Long run

When I set out this morning at 07:30, it was in my best interest that I didn't know the exact distance I was set to run. Sure, I knew the route, but I didn't give much thought to how far and long it was going to take me. Coach slyly new this I think, as specific instructions for no timing were given. I still don't know how far exactly I ran, but I'd guess it was about 25-27k. I'm taking a stab at the distance, as I'm sure it's the longest I've run in a while. It sure felt like it. Something tells me I better not check (for my psyche), maybe coach will chime in with the distance.

For those in the know, my route was: Marine ave/Paradise Valley/around Cranberry Lake/Marlett/Drake/Hawthorne/to Beach trail/Home.

It took some extra motivation to head out the door, as it was cool, dark, with some wind. By the time I came out of the Valley, the wind was gone and had turned to a mixture of rain and snow.

I haven't done too much long distance training, so I feel this one in my thighs. It was good to get this one in early, and have a sense of accomplishment to boot.

Pretty close. I think that you are in the 25K range - maybe 26K - I don't think that I measured the part around the back of the lake. It is just about 24K if you stay on Manson all of the way.

Good on ya'!!!

Good run, the distance/miles will help you this spring. What do you have on your schedule, do you plan on racing either the TC or Sun Run?

I've got planned the Steveston 8k at the end of this month and the TC 10k in April.
