By our standards on the west coast it was a scorcher of a day. The hottest this year. Not feeling very intrepid, I decided to take my run indoors, as my opportunity to run came during the hottest portion of the day. The treadmill beckoned and the air conditioned gym certainly was a pleasing way to complete the workout compared to the alternative.
I did 4X2K at tempo pace (~3:56/k or 6:18/mile) with 1 minute complete rest between, for a total of 11k. That's 9.5mph on the treadmill setting. It's a good thing I have a conversion chart, or I'd never be able to figure these paces out. When it comes to running and distance, I think in metric; but the treadmills seem to be American, and don't. This was the first time I've done cruise intervals with complete rest in between, and I've determined that you can't underestimate that 1min rest. I felt relatively fresh on my 8th K, a lot better than when I've done these while running between intervals. A good workout today, my legs felt good during the run, and I felt pretty fresh afterwards.
