Early morning run

I picked up Patrick N. at 6:30 this morning, which is my first early morning workout in a while. Patrick was going to the track to do some fast reps, and after running intervals last night, I was due for an easy run. I ran on the infield, taking advantage of the turf, and took about a 2K spin on the road as the monotony was getting to me. My legs felt a bit tired, but not too bad; maybe seeing Patrick charging around the track in fast times made me feel a tad slow. In any event, I ran for 9K and then hurried home so Sarah could head off to work, I left Patrick to finish his reps. I was considering doing a short run tonight, but I will probably pass to give my body/foot a rest, and concentrate on having a solid 12k run tomorrow.

Above is a picture of my home track with a view towards the west. It's not in the greatest shape but at least it's accurately measured.

Today's quote of the day:

I had as many doubts as anyone else. Standing on the starting line, we're all cowards.-- Alberto Salazar
