I wasn't able to get out early enough for a run in the morning and we are planning a rare night at the movie theatre tonight to see Superman Returns, so I was running mid-day. Unlike yesterday, I braved the heat and ran ~11k, the same loop I ran last Wednesday, with a lot more success. An out and back along the sea-walk, beach trail and what I call the "Laburnum loop". The temperature was about 25deg/C by the time I was finished, but I'd say about 1/2 of the run was in shaded trails, so this helped. My time was 53:48 which was a little slower than I had expected since I threw in 6X25-30sec. strides interspersed throughout the run. I think the heat took more time off than I had thought it would; or I need to focus more?
It was nice to run with Doug P. for about 2K on the way back home. He was riding his bike back from work and snuck up behind me, joining me for a quick chat. It's a nice distraction to have someone riding along side you, which doesn't happen to often, though my wife used to when she lived in Vancouver, and we were sans toodler.

What is a toodler? jm
a toodler is something on the back of your bike that slows you down.
