It was an early wake-up and run today. I picked up Patrick N. in the tomato (our red honda civic) at 7:00 and went to the track. Patrick was doing hard repeats at the track, and as this was not on my schedule, I thought I would meet him at least part way. After a light 1K warmup with Patrick, I headed on the roads for a 7K easy run before rejoining him. When I got back to the track he was just finishing his first set (800/400/200m) and my plan was to do 200m repeats by joining Patrick for the last 200m of each of his repeats. Patrick is faster than I am, so the trick was to take off a few seconds before he reached me and make him push to catch me. Patrick's great at running from behind, he has the steely determination to catch and latch (pass too!) on to you. He ran one 200m in ~28sec. He had a great workout and to top it off he was off to swim 5K!
I ended up doing 5X200m; I didn't time them, but I suspect they were about 37sec. I did push my last one and did it (the only one I timed) in 34.5 sec. 9K for the day, but probably should have run a bit more.

I bought some running shoes today: Glycerin 4 by Brooks. I haven't been into running but hopefully I can start at it and maybe even get into a little better shape... The feel so fine it makes me want to run right now...
Great blog!
