Today was the day the community came out to honour Terry Fox in the annual Terry Fox run. I met up at the track with Patrick N, Kevin S, and Steve B, and we ran to the run which was staged at our recreation center. All four of us did the 10k portion, which is really closer to 9K, but whose counting. Oh, me I guess......Using the run as a tempo run was a great way to get in a harder effort with a few guys around. The rain added to the slight coolness and it was good running conditions, despite the overcast skies and the first real rainy day in a while. Despite the inclement weather it was nice to see so many from the community out this morning. I ended up running with Kevin S. and came in at 36:00. Afterward, the four of us put in a run of ~7k back to the track, so this gave me ~20k for the day.
My Sister Jill ran the Terry Fox in Victoria today and she got a ribbon! Oh, everyone got a ribbon. Way to go Jill!
I have to mention Andrew W. today. He took off hard during the run, harder than he's ever run before, and took something like 6min. off of his 10K equivalent time. He's come a long way in a very short time...... Congrats, Andrew!

My wife (JB) and I dropped by in the middle of our run on Friday but alas you must have been out on your own.
We did about 5 kms + hills at the Track in about 1 hour! I really paced myself I didn't want to upset all the beer in my system.
My glycerin 4's really help but I still have runner's knee or something... Too bad you weren't home MR RUNNER!
