Canadian's of a certain age will recall the Participaction program and it's attendant badges (Gold, Silver, Bronze) you received after doing a series of physical tests in primary school. Tests that included: situps, flexibility, sprinting, and the good 'ol flexed arm hang. Well, they're thinking of bringing it back. It's hard to believe that 5.4 million dollars is causing a minor furor. Oh, and full disclosure: I attained a Silver participaction badge at my 11 year-old peak.

Why on earth would Canadians be opposed to $5 million a year for a program that could help people get fit thereby saving millions in health costs? Our provincial medical insurance plans pay out millions per DAY much of which I am sure could be avoided if people were more fit.
thanks for the link. :)
Will they bring back the flexed arm hang. I use to dominate that event, what with the ol' twin peaks locked in position!!
