At the track

After what seemed like a long day travelling back home, I went up to our local oval to run in the ever beat-up rubber of lane 1. It was track day and today called for a series of 4oo/2oo/100's. Not a bad workout considering, but not a world-beater either. I did cut it short at the end while doing some 100's, as I felt my right leg, along the IT band, suddenly feel strained/wobbley. It seems fine now, but I wanted to be on the safe side and not force anything.

Warmup, drills, 4X striders

Total workout time was 55:30

No rain (there was even a brief flirtation with sunshine), but a strong wind on the backstretch. I've come to accept that there's going to be wind here constantly, excepting the brief summer months.

Without any explanation the results from Sunday's race have been corrected. They did respond to my email asking me what my time variance was.

So, I ended up with a 38:23.5, with one move up in the overall finishers and one move back in my age group. I have no idea how that worked out. Was there a dq? Anyone have any idea(s)? I see Patty moved up into a solid 4th.

The times now seem more reasonable, though my faith in the timing services at these races is far from rock-solid. This isn't the first time I've seen and experienced funny happenings with finishing times.
