Yesterday, following my track workout, I mentioned to my coach that I wondered if I should have gutted out one more 400 on the track. I was questioning whether it was a lack of mental toughness, rather than anything physical, that prevented me from doing just one more. Looking back, I'm glad I didn't do that "one more" for the training log; as yesterdays workout definitely lingered in my legs 24hrs. following it.
Having travelled to Vancouver for a couple of nights, I did an easy run, away from my usual routes, wanting to get the blood flowing in my legs speeding recovery. I ran to Balaclava park (the cinder track, not the dog area), along 29th ave. to the endowment lands, and ran what amounted a big circle there, as I wanted out of the endowment lands before it got dark. I ran for what was probably a little more than 8K, my legs loosening up somewhat after a few drills and the run. Though despite stretching afterwards, my legs still feel a bit of residual soreness. Another easy run tomorrow back home should cure that.

Hey there,
Looks like a nice park to run around! When are ya gonna post some clips of you running?
JM
Thanks for the comments on my blog. Looks like you have done some good running in 2006! Keep at it, and good luck with your training. When is that marathon PR getting replaced? Any plans?
eric,
The marathon is on hold for now as I'm back to basics....working on the 5,8 and 10K's.
Despite my P.B's all being in 2006, most were at the beginning of 06 and I feel they are a bit "soft".....I've recently got a coach who has me focused and it will be nice to see what happens in the year to come....
thanks for your comment
