I willed myself to get off the couch this morning and have my workout, "run and done" before lunch. This meant getting out in the rain again, which has since subsided as I write this (in the middle of the day). I'm not sure the reason, and I don't have a ready excuse that will absolutely explain why I was a bit off (though I have many at the ready), but my pacing was slow today for my tempo effort. Not terribly slow, but just enough to prevent me from being overly happy with the workout. As John Lennon said, "nobody told me there'd be days like these".
To recap:
2K warmup
Drills + 4 strides
6K total Tempo running
54:00 total workout time
~10K total
I also had a quick chat with Greg T. during a rest phase, he was setting up the soccer pitch for a match later in the afternoon, I haven't run with Greg in a while, and it's always nice running into (and with) him.

I received this headlamp as a gift yesterday for night running. It feels very comfy, I'm hoping it will light my way.

No worries. If every day was good, your achievements would seem like nothing.
I never thought I would have any use for a headlamp, but I recently decided to try one, and I love it. I can run trails I would normally never attempt in the early morning. It's a nice safety feature, too.
