Wet at the cross country course

The wind and rain storm subsided by the afternoon, though it remained an all-around miserable day weather wise. Sarah was working today and I thought I wouldn't make it to the XC course today for a workout before dark.... but then my Mom came to the rescue! I dropped Audrey off with my Mom for a little over an hour and squeezed in my XC loops. I can't say thanks enough for this help.

The run was, as expected, hard. If any of my workouts will give me any surprise benefits, I think this is the one. By surprise, I mean the hard effort felt during the loops will (hopefully)create a greater fitness level than I've previously been at, and translate into good racing results. The course was just a little bit slippery on one of the downhill sections, where the leaves have fallen, lined the trail and gotten wet, but overall the course was in pretty good shape. I haven't done this particular workout since Oct 27 and I felt like I needed to get this one done.

Overall it was a decent workout, but there's lots of room for improvement. Particularly with my running form when the going gets tough.
