Simon Bairu won a fifth straight Canadian senior men's cross-country championship Saturday in Vancouver. With the bad conditions at the recent XC race, I figured he had to be a mudder, and he confirms that is his strength. Bairu said the event is just another step towards his immediate goal of qualifying for the 10,000m at the 2007 world track and field championships, Aug. 25-Sept. 2 in Osaka, Japan. He's got big goals, lets hope he makes them.

While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.-- Henry C. Link
