Rabbit, run

I was to run like a rabbit today. With the wind blowing, I felt like acting like the hare's pictured above, just staying indoors, cocooning. Mercifully though, there was a break in the rain and just the cross-wind at the track to contend with. The details:

1600m warmup
drills
4 X50m strides
3X 1600m @ 5:40 (with 400m walk/jog between)
800m cooldown

Each of the repeats was a bit over; but my Coach, whose ubiquitous presence seems to be everywhere, was satisfied with the results. He sent an interesting response to my query about the fact that I thought I could have dug a bit deeper during the repeats, saying, "Gravediggers are the only people who should be digging deeper". What about politicians? or the Canucks? Strike that, the Canucks are winning right now.......

Impressive workout, well done. You'll be knocking off big time in future races if you keep that up, speaking of which... what's next?

Thanks for the encouragement.

Scheduled: Run for the parks 5K in Vancouver next week and depending on the pending birth of our second child: the TC 10K in your neck of the woods.

Yes, nice running, Lawrence. And another babe on the way!? Exciting stuff! Good luck with both.
