I just powered through this book, and it was well worth the money. Dyer's book on the Iraq war is very analytical, quite objective, and gets to the heart of the matter. He discusses the likely scenario's following the U.S. [defeat] withdrawal, and the ramifications for the region. Question: Want to really know why the U.S. is in Iraq? Read this book.
Answer: It 'ain't just about the oil.

I picked up a copy of this book through amazon.ca, looking forward to it...thanks for the link.
Odd that I couldn't buy it through amazon.com. They don't carry the book, and the only copy available was used, from a reseller at over 2.5 times the price. Politically motivated omission?

Probably not politically motivated, but rather maybe Dyer being Canadian has something to do with it. He'd be published and available in this market first. But, who knows?
