Terry Fox run

Our entire family participated in the Terry Fox run this morning. I pushed our 18 month old boy in our Model-T stroller, and Sarah rode her bike with our little girl nicely ensconced in a trailer. I ended up losing the "battle of the baby strollers", with a fellow passing me in the first K and hammering all the way to the finish. I knew it was over when I was enviously admiring his stroller, a Mercedes-Benz type device. I was in tough using a chariot that has a bad habit of pulling to the left. This is what you get when you insist on using hand-me-downs. The fact he was a very fast and capable runner had nothing to do with it.

Despite the epic loss, the whole family had a great time, and my little guy enjoyed the 10k ride, not saying a peep the whole way around.

Any chance that it was Lucien Ervington? He ran on the UVic Cross Country team with Graham.

I think that it was him. I haven't met him, but he's a hell of a runner.

Lucien used to work me in highschool...then he'd run home from school to Lund.
