Work and family commitments kept me to a short run today. It was an easy day, running 7K on the treadmill in 4:45/k pace (7:41/mile). After yesterday, it was nice to feel human again during a run. I would have run longer but I had to scram from the gym and head home.
I do need to catch up on some sleep, I feel like I haven't had a good 8 hours in some time. I should go to bed earlier, but I often find myself staying up a bit later than I should. I have been feeling more motivated about my running of late; though I was running frequently a few months ago, it was without a definable purpose. Now that I've established some goals for races in a few months time, I feel I'm running with greater conviction. It's also helped to get a training schedule worked out and feel I have to stick to it. I hope my wife doesn't read the bit about not getting enough sleep -- she'll either laugh at me or kill me.
Congratulations to Graham Cocksedge who placed third in a recent 5K run in Corner Brook, NFLD, a week before the World Duathlon Championships. He ran a smokin' 14:23:30!
