Sarah received a call to go to work this morning, so Audrey and I spent the morning together. We went to Gran and Grumps where she pigged out on raisins and goldfish crackers. We came home and she proceeded to fall asleep in her highchair. So off to bed she went while Dad rested.
After weighing the pros and cons, I decided to take just one more day off running. My foot is decidedly better and one more days rest should hopefully put it over the top. I have to remind myself sometimes of the long term nature of training, and that a few days off now is not the end of the world. My next scheduled race is not till the Victoria half in October, so I want any niggling injuries nipped in the bud now.
Went to the gym and ended up doing 25' on the elliptical, 10' on the bike, and 10' on the rower. Not that impressive really. I really find the elliptical boring, even more so than the treadmill. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I can get a run in.
I see Patrick came in 9th in the Squamish tri. It looks like he really did well. He sent me a race report and it made for awesome reading. It sounds like he really dug deep after the swim to scratch his way to a top ten finish. Way to go Patrick!
