I was having a nap this afternoon, when the phone rang, and on the other end was Greg T. wondering if I had run today. As circumstances had made running in the morning impossible, we arranged to head to Loon lake for a run. Greg mentioned that he had some motivation problems today, so we both formed our own self-help group, and I picked him up just after 3:00. After a short warm-up we hit the loop pretty hard. It ended with us coming in together in 51:35, which is about 2 min. faster for me than a couple of weeks ago -- the difference being able to run with someone the whole way around. The total for the day was only 15k, which is something I may address next week for the Terry Fox run by putting in some k's before the event.
A few thank you's are in order: I want to thank Greg T. for running hard with me today on short notice, and I want to thank my Mom for coming over and looking after Audrey, and assorted things today at home.
Congratulations are in order for two guys who made P.R. proud, Graham and Patrick with some awesome times on a hard 10K course in Nanaimo: finish times of 32:22, and 34:16 respectively.
Also, a sad day in Canada's elite women's running, an athlete I've been watching for sometime, died tragically in a car accident today. Emilie Mondor was only 25. Rest in Peace.
