It's the shortest day of the year. Thank god we're moving in the positive direction! There's just 8:19 hours of daylight today. I heard on CBC radio this morning that 20% of people suffer from S.A.D.S. (seasonal affective disorder), so I guess there will be a slow improving of many people's moods. I don't know if I suffer from it, and if I did, how would I know it? This article disputes the CBC figures.
Due to today's busy schedule, I had to get up early this morning and get my run in before 8:00. I was at the gym at 7:00 and did a progressive tempo run on the treadmill. Just like last time, I began at 6:15 min/mile pace and worked up to a quicker pace. I was a bit quicker hitting the button this morning to increase the pace, and kept it there longer compared to a few days ago. A good effort for ~5K for a total of about 9k.
Tonight, I head back to the gym for a strength workout.
