A mudder? Who knew?

Getting home from work late and being greeted by the rain is something I should be used to. But I'm not. I'm usually not the best bad weather runner; but I think I've improved my mindset about it in the last year. Anyway, I put my old kicks on, the one's now strictly relegated to muddy trails and the like, dressed appropriately, and ventured into the rain and mud. I was home at 6:05 and out the door at 6:15. Once I was in my groove, the weather really was a non-factor. I put in 12K at approx. 6:36/mile pace (a guesstimate), and felt invigorated after the run, despite my initial misgivings.

I hadn't realized how much mud I brought home with me until I stopped and took a look at my legs and feet. I was covered in half of the Willingdon Beach trail-- and my outer white shirt was covered in the other half. A white shirt was not the best choice today. I should have been in a Tide commercial. When I got home, I actually sat on the clothes dryer, and took my socks off with my feet suspended over the washing machine so as to keep the mud from getting everywhere. Maybe I should have taken them off outside.....hmmm.......

A good run, and it's a nice one to place in the bank.

Hey ya lawrence,
Thanks again for the visit and the pizza, really made the first part of my trip fly. Had to wait 1 sailing at Langdale but, oh well, better that one than Saltery.(I guess)
It feels good to get dirty sometimes...(i should know) Here's one trick , have plastic bags near your front door and put your shoes and feet and all in, then take them off. This trick works well with foot powder as well. No muss no fuss.

Personally , I'm starting to time myself around trout lake, it's only about a 7-8 minute run, but i'm starting small, and then adding laps.
talk soon

Freudian Slip: You say one thing when you actually mean a-mudder.

Nice run, Lawrence--sounds like it was a fun one, too.

You didn't say if you got yourself in trouble with Mrs. Lawrence or not...=)
